Poetry as Prayer

I will not die an unlived life
I will not live in fear
Of falling or catching fire.
I choose to inhabit my days,
To allow my living to open me
To make me less afraid.
More accessible
To loosen my heart
until it becomes a wing,
a torch, a promise
I choose to risk my significance,
To live
So that which came to me as seed
Goes to the next as blossom
And that which came
to me as blossom
goes on as fruit

If ever the fear of the wolf

Intro to Coaching

YOUR VISION.  Do you have a personal vision of what you want to experience in business, career, and life?  A fundamental aspect of coaching is creating an exploration space to get clear on your vision for the future; then, immediately identifying action steps to move you forward in that very direction.

YOUR JOURNEY.  You choose the focus for coaching.  Carolyn uses a holistic approach to help her clients explore various aspects of personal and professional life.

YOUR WAY.  A coaching practice offers your the structure, focus, and discipline that makes change and the achievement of your desired goals and outcomes possible.  Custom coaching sessions will help you increase focus and deepen in your self-awareness practice through the experience of private, confidential conversation.  Clients often report feeling calm, clear, grounded and inspired to action after a single session.

OUR OFFER.  Jump-start your practice with this special introductory offer: 3 sessions for $399.  Single session: $150. By appointment only.

To enroll: Call 202 250 7500 or email .

Becoming

Your beliefs become your thoughts,
Your thoughts become your words,
Your words become your actions,
Your actions become your habits,
Your habits become your values,
Your values become your destiny.

A New Silence

When you travel, you find yourself
Alone in a different way,
More attentive now
To the self you bring along,
Your more subtle eye watching
You abroad; and how what meets you
Touches that part of the heart
That lies low at home.
When you travel, A new silence
Goes with you, And if you listen,
You will hear what your heart would love to say.

Greetings from Deutschland!

Arrived here in Vilseck, Germany without a travel hitch.  The drive from Munich airport was characteristically German country hillside, small villages, snow-covered wheat fields, walking paths and tall forest trees beautiful!

And the air… ahhh… so clean and breathe-it-in fresh!

The gasthaus I’m staying is the oldest in Vilseck, originated in 1666 and is family run.  This charming town dates back to the middle ages.  Some local sights to see include the local bell tower, Dagestein Castle, and St. Agodius city church.

Saturday into Sunday, besides catching up on sleep from the overnight flight, I started the day at 4:30 am and patiently waited and waited and waited for the town bakery to open.

Guten Morgen!  Started the day off with coffee, baked good-ness, cheese, and chocolate!  After a walk about town, I planned to spend the day at my new, favorite local (only) cafe.  Just like home!  That is, until it closed… at 11am.

I haven’t experienced a quiet Sunday like this since early childhood.  So sweet.  So simple.  Everything I need is right here in this small town… and open on Monday.  Oh well, think I’ll enjoy a tranquil day of reading, writing, listening to some music, and lightly preparing for the work week… all possible distractions eliminated.

Auf Wiedersehen!
Carolyn
